OKKIO MACULA is food supplement with Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Zinc, Copper, Lutein, Zeaxanthin, Astaxanthin and Nucleotides.

Astaxanthin belongs to a selected group of carotenoids and it is considered one of the most powerful natural antioxidant agents.

Lutein and Zeaxanthin too belong to the group of carotenoids. They are accumulated in a selective mode in the central part of the retina (macula lutea) forming the so-called macular pigment. They protect photoreceptors from the damaging effects of light radiations, which can cause particular conditions.

Vitamin C and Vitamin E normalize a number of metabolic reactions and slow down cellular ageing and degeneration processes caused by free radicals. In particular, vitamin C works inside cells and intracellular spaces, while the action of vitamin E focuses mainly on cell membranes protecting them from the oxidative damage of free radicals.

Zinc is involved in a number of enzymatic activities, many of which take place in the retina.

The formulation of OKKIO MACULA is completed with nucleotides.

OKKIO MACULA is therefore a supplement which, thanks to its constituents, favors the normal biochemical processes of the retinal cells and can therefore be useful in case of alterations in the macula lutea. The specific formulation of OKKIO MACULA also allows a slow and gradual release of the nutrients that compose it, so as to ensure a more complete and controlled absorption during the day. For these reasons it is sufficient to take only one tablet per day to meet the daily requirement.
